One of the 1st to have my ZenitCo Perst 4 modified.

I found Travis on an AR15.com thread with a few people wishing to modify their ZenitCo LAMs for use with domestic products. Eing that ZenitCo uses a proprietary plug it is a bit a delicate process to then splice lights and switches to then run with their units. Travis said he was working on getting contractor grade Crain Spec plugs to allow for better domestic compatibility. I told him that I was very interested. When. He was able to knock out my modification to my Gen3 ZenitCo Perst 4 I sent it out to him. The turnaround was about 2 weeks and he provided a status update at week 1 with pictures. Upon receiving my now modified unit back I quickly put it on paper and then linked it with a Unity Tactical switch to fire with a Z-Bolt IR illuminator on a scout body to fire in unison. It has been a while now and I haven't had any problems with function even after abusing my rifle. This modification is well worth the price and the work is professional.

Don't think about it, just do it

I was about 2 weeks out from a multi-day night vision class. I had my Perst 4 and surefire vampire, purchased the modbutton dual lead only to realize after splicing my zenitco switch into it that the mod did not work with gen 3 perst 4's. Determined, I scoured the internet for a possible solution, finding an old post on ARFCOM that was recently updated with a link to this site.

I emailed Travis and he said he could turn it around before my class, so I sent in the Perst 4 and crossed my fingers that surgery would be a success. Travis kept me updated during the process, when my perst was received, some pictures of the new design, and the post op, plus he spent the extra coin to get it back to me on time as promised.

I slapped it on my Arsenal SAM5 and LARP'd in my backyard after night took over the sky to toy around with my new modbutton dual lead. I was impressed, it worked perfectly! I took it out to the 3 day event and did plenty of up drills, a lot of stuff on the move, at one point we did "suicides" like in high school PE. Run to a barrel, make 3 shots on the target, run another 25y to the next barrel, same thing, rinse and repeat, all while the other team did the same thing. If I had my old setup of pressing the button on the perst then separately activating the light, those precious few seconds would have counted against me.

Similarly, in the real world, those few seconds will count against you. So do what I did and send Travis your Perst 4. The plug is rock solid, it works fantastically well with a dual lead or similar setup, and quite frankly you can't beat a Perst 4 FP laser with a vampire combo.

10/10, would highly recommend.
